After traveling around the United States as a Navy wife with two children we ended up in San Diego. I soon became a single parent and working in civil service at the Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. It was there I had the opportunity to join the Naval Reserves. So at the age of 40 I joined the Naval Reserves, an at the same time I attended National University and received a Bachelor Degree in Occupational Health & Safety and Masters in Curriculum Development. I retired three years ago this August with 20 years service with the Naval Reserves. Eight years active duty and 12 years reserve as a Yeoman (YN) administrative clerk. My travels with the military, I would say the most interesting was visiting Seoul, South Korea. In July of 1995 I took a bus tour to Panmunjom. The Joint Security area is a neutral but divided area guarded by United Nations & Korean People’s Army. I am standing in the meeting room you can see the North Korean solders looking in the window. I live Arizona and work for Belden Communications Division, (Phoenix) as a Security Officer.
